Gwalior Hundi case: Gwalior. New Zealand Representative! Nathu Lal Gupta, father of Ashu alias Ashish Gupta, the main accused of multi-crore hundi, has been arrested from SIT Indore to investigate the matter. Elder Nathulal Gupta is also named in the case of fraud and forgery. Now in this case, the wife of the accused, Monu Gupta, who bet on the cricket match and the wife of the main accused is on the hunt. SSP Amit Sanghi claims that continuous efforts are being made to nab the remaining accused. Police is interrogating accused Nathu Gupta. In this case, the police has arrested the main accused Ashu, his servant and two cricket match bookies and sent them to jail in judicial custody. In the multi-crore hundi scandal, the traders of the city had threatened to close their establishments on March 12, announcing the agitation two days ago.
SSP Amit Sanghi said that on the request of traders, SIT has been constituted under the leadership of ASP (Crime) Rajesh Dandautia to investigate the Hundi incident. The SIT has been arrested on Sunday after getting accurate information regarding the father of the main accused. Now the accused is being questioned in connection with the Hundi scandal.
Traders were cheated of crores by giving fake hundis – Nathu Lal Gupta’s pulse is the seat of the hundi in the market. Lives in Mainawali street. His son Ashu alias Ashish Gupta also started brokering hoodies with him. The traders of Dal Bazar, Naya Bazar, Lohia Bazar and Bullion Bazar had put crores of rupees on interest on Hundi through Ashu. Ashish had a luxury life for some time. Used to go for sightseeing in Dubai, Mumbai and Goa. Ashu’s sudden disappearance on January 28 caused a stir. The merchants running money on interest through Ashu were shocked. On February 2, the traders filed a case of fraud and fake counterfeiting against Ashu, his father, Nathu Gupta, wife and servant. Investigation came to know that the Hundi, which was given by taking money from the traders, was fake. He stole crores of rupees of traders by writing hundi in the name of another trader. After registering the case, the police arrested Ashu from Shyam Khatu. Only two lakh rupees were recovered from the accused. The accused, after being caught by the police, confessed that he had lost more than 41 crores in betting on cricket matches. The accused told the police three names of betting on the cricket match. Among them were Monu Dabra, Dilip Sindhi and a bookie from Guna. Monu has caught both the bookies except Dabra and sent them to jail.
Traders are pressurizing to catch the accused and return the money – Harshit Sahni, the businessman’s son, committed suicide after seeing his father in trouble. The businessman is angry about the arrest of the accused and the return of the money. Police is making continuous efforts to arrest the named accused. To find a legal way to get the money back, the police has already communicated with the traders from the District Prosecution Officer. Law experts say that the police have no legal right to confiscate the property of the accused, to return the money.
