New Delhi. Today is a very special day for Gujarat. Voting for the assembly elections was held in the state in two phases on 1st and 5th. Triangular contest is being seen in the elections held on 182 seats. In the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party, the country’s oldest party Congress and Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal’s party (AAP) are face to face. In this election held in Gujarat, everyone’s eyes are fixed on three young leaders. These 3 veterans are Hardik Patel, Alpesh Thakor and Jignesh Mevani. Talking about these youths, Alpesh and Hardik are in the election fray from the Bharatiya Janata Party. So there, Jignesh Mevani is contesting on behalf of Congress.
BJP had increased difficulties in the last elections
If you look at the last elections, all these three youths remained a challenge for the BJP. However, the equations are different in this election. Two of these three youths, Hardik Patel and Alpesh Thakor, are with the BJP this time. At the same time, Jignesh is strengthening it by staying in the Congress.
How are the earlier figures
Hardik Patel- Hardik Patel, who was the face of the Patidar reservation movement, was in the Congress party before these elections. However, after a long-standing displeasure, he had joined the BJP. Hardik Patel is contesting from his hometown Viramgam seat. Here, Lakhabhai Bharwad of Congress is against him. The Congress has been dominating the Viramgam seat. He has won 2 times in a row. However, this time the BJP has fielded Hardik from the Patidar community, who is from the backward castes, so it has to be seen whether the seat will go out of the hands of the Congress this time or whether it will be retained by the Congress once again.
Alpesh Thakor- Alpesh Thakor, who came into public limelight as an anti-liquor agitator by forming the Gujarat Kshatriya Thakor Sena, is trying his luck on the Gandhinagar South seat from the BJP. Congress’s Himanshu Patel and Aam Aadmi Party’s Devendra Patel are challenging BJP’s Thakor. Alpesh Thakor, who became MLA from Radhanpur seat of Banaskantha on Congress ticket in 2017, later became BJP. The BJP has held the Gandhinagar South seat twice. However, this time after the arrival of the Aam Aadmi Party, it has to be seen how much the figures change.
Jignesh Mevani- Jignesh Mevani is considered a special face of Dalit politics in Gujarat. Congress has placed bets on Mevani from Vadgam seat. Manilal Vaghela has landed on this seat from BJP. A change in figures can be seen after the candidate of Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM in front of Jignesh Mevani, who is considered close to Rahul Gandhi. In such a situation, it has to be seen whether the trio of these 3 youths of Gujarat can reach the assembly?
