It rained for a few minutes along with strong winds, the weather became pleasant and the temperature dropped. Due to sudden rain, the wheat lying in the markets got completely drenched. The weather changed so rapidly that farmers and traders did not even get a chance to cover their crops. Bags full of grains, wheat and mustard crops lying in the open in the market got drenched.
The farmers who brought their crops to the market have blamed the procurement agencies for the negligence of the administration. Farmers and traders say that the procurement agencies are not purchasing their grains on time, as much as has been procured. It is not being lifted, due to which the market is completely filled with grains. If the harvesting is done on time, their crop and hard work would not have gone to waste.

Director of Meteorological Center, Chandigarh, AK Singh said that from April 26, the weather will be bad for three-four days due to western disturbance.
