In the northern states of the country, heat was seen in the month of March itself and now many records can be broken in April. According to the Meteorological Department, in many states including Delhi, Haryana and UP, the temperature can cross 40 degree Celsius in the first week of April itself. Surprisingly, Shimla, which is famous for its cold nights, has also seen a significant increase in temperature. In Shimla on March 17, the temperature had gone up to 18 degree Celsius, which is a record in itself. Never in Shimla has the temperature been so high during the night.
Not only this, the temperature in Dharamsala is also increasing rapidly. The temperature in Dharamsala had reached 33.2 degree Celsius on March 29. Apart from this, on the 30th it was up to 32.8 Celsius. The temperature has also increased rapidly in Manali, which is currently running up to 27 degree Celsius. Earlier in 2004 only there was such a temperature. Talking about Shimla, the temperature on March 22, 2010 was 16.5 degree Celsius, which was the maximum. From this point of view, the nights of March this year have been the hottest in Shimla.
Apart from this, the month of March this year has been the driest in the last 14 years. During this period there has been a deficit of up to 95 percent in rainfall. Earlier in 2008, a decrease of 96% was recorded. The situation remains the same in all the 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh. Especially in Una, Bilaspur and Hamirpur districts, the heat is on the rise. It is worth noting that this year, in the month of March itself, severe heat is being seen, about which concern is being expressed. The Meteorological Department says that the month of April this year can be very hot in the country and many old records may be destroyed.
