1 cup washed gram dal, 3 cups water, 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp cardamom powder, nutmeg, grated, 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp salt, 2 tbsp ghee, 1 water
Recipe to make Puran Poli:
To make Puran Poli, first wash the gram dal and put it in the cooker, add water and cook it till 3 to 4 whistles. Now drain the water from the lentils and grind it coarsely. Turn this dal in the cooker and add sugar to it and mix well. Cook on low flame. Add ground cardamom and grated nutmeg to it and mix. Let this mixture cool. Knead the dough to make Puran Poli. Mix flour, salt and ghee in a big vessel. Mix water little by little and knead the dough. Now cover the vessel with a wet cloth and leave it for 30 minutes.
