Holika Dahan 2022: Holika Dahan takes place a day before Holi. Holika Dahan will take place on March 17 this year. Holika is worshiped on this day. Whereas on the second day Holi of colors is celebrated with full enthusiasm. Holashtak takes place 8 days before Holi. Holashtak will be held from March 10. No auspicious work is done on the day of Holashtak. The festival of Holi is celebrated on the Pratipada of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month. This year the festival of Holi will be celebrated on 18th March.
Holika Dahan Puja Material
A lot of water, garland made of cow dung, intact, smell, flowers, garlands, roli, raw yarn, jaggery, whole turmeric, moong, batase, gulal, coconut, wheat earrings.
Holika Dahan auspicious time
Holika Dahan Muhurta : 09.06 pm to 10.16 pm
Rangwali Holi: March 18, 2022
– Purnima date starts: March 17, 2022 from 01.29 pm
– Purnima date ends: March 18, 2022 till 12.47 pm
– Alternate Muhurta : Madhya Rashi from 01.12 to 06.28 am
Holika Puja Vidhi
1. Place all the worship materials in a plate.
2. Sit at the place of worship facing east or north. After that sprinkle water on the puja thali and on yourself. He should chant the mantra ‘Om Pundarikakshah Punatu’ thrice.
3. Now take a vow with water, rice, flowers and a coin in the right hand.
4. Remember Lord Ganesha with flowers and rice in the right hand.
5. Now remember Goddess Ambika. Chant the mantra Om Ambikayai Namah Panchopchararthe Gandhakshatpushpani Sarmapayami.
6. While chanting the mantra, apply Roli and Akshat on the flower and offer it to Goddess Ambika.
7. Now remember Lord Narasimha. Offer roli and rice on the flower and offer it to the god.
8. Now the devotee should remember Prahlad. Offer roli and rice on the flower.
9. Stand in front of Holika. Offer Akshat, incense, flowers, moong dal, pieces of turmeric, coconut and garlands made of cow dung to Holika.
10. Now while circumambulating Holika, tie raw yarn around it taking seven rounds. Now offer water to the lotus in front of the Holika pile.
