In today’s era, due to deteriorating lifestyle and eating habits, the problem of BP is increasing rapidly. To avoid the problem of BP, everyone should keep checking their blood pressure and if it is more or less, then they should consult a doctor.
Doctor Sonia Rawat says that while checking blood pressure, people should sit comfortably on a chair. While sitting on a chair, your feet should be on the floor and your hands should be equal to the height of the heart on the table in front of you. You can check BP with either right or left hand. You should check your blood pressure after sitting in this position for some time. With this you will get the correct reading of BP. However, for people who feel dizzy, their blood pressure can also be checked while lying down. This does not have any significant effect on the readings.
According to the doctor, if you check your blood pressure lying down, you will get a slightly lower reading as compared to sitting. Therefore, for correct reading, people should check BP properly while sitting on a chair. If a person’s position is wrong, there may be a slight change in the BP reading. To avoid the problem of blood pressure, people should adopt a good lifestyle, take a healthy diet and exercise regularly. Apart from this, one should check BP from time to time and consult a doctor.
