BJP candidate from Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat, Kompela Madhavi Latha, has family assets worth Rs 221.37 crore, making her one of the richest candidates in Telangana. She, her husband Kompela Vishwanath, (both businessmen) and their three dependent children have movable assets worth Rs 165.46 crore and the couple owns immovable assets worth Rs 55.91 crore. Lata’s husband Vishwanath Kompalle has studied from IIT Madras and is the founder of a fintech and healthcare company.

Madhavi Latha gave details of family assets in an affidavit submitted to the Election Commission while filing her nomination on Wednesday. The 49-year-old BJP candidate lives in the twin city of Secunderabad. She recently joined BJP and is contesting elections for the first time. He declared that he had liquid assets worth Rs 31.31 crore, including investments of Rs 25.20 crore in listed and unlisted companies. He has an investment of Rs 7.80 crore in Virinchi Limited. He also has gold jewelery worth Rs 3.78 crore.
Lata’s family owes Rs 27 crore
Her husband has movable assets worth Rs 88.31 crore, which include shares worth Rs 52.36 crore in Virinchi Limited. His three dependent children also have movable assets totaling more than Rs 45 crore. The BJP candidate also owns immovable assets worth Rs 6.32 crore, while her husband’s immovable assets are worth Rs 49.59 crore. The properties include non-agricultural land and commercial and residential buildings in and around Hyderabad. Madhavi Lata has liabilities of Rs 90 lakh while her husband has liabilities of Rs 26.13 crore.
His income during FY 2022-23 was Rs 3.76 lakh while it was Rs 1.22 crore during FY 2021-22. Vishwanath’s income during the financial year 2022-23 was Rs 2.82 crore while during 2021-22 it was Rs 6.86 crore.

A criminal case is registered against the BJP candidate. A case was registered against him under section 295-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Begum Bazaar police station last week. He is accused of firing an imaginary arrow towards the mosque located in the circle of Siddi Ambar Bazaar.
On the Hyderabad seat, he will face All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and sitting MP Asaduddin Owaisi and Congress candidate Mohammad Waliullah Sameer.
