Chennai: A huge crowd reached the road show of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of India. Thousands of Bharatiya Janata Party workers, supporters and common people participated in the road show. This road show of the senior BJP leader was mainly from Mettukadai Junction in Thuckale to the old bus stand in Kanyakumari. BJP candidate from Kanyakumari Lok Sabha seat and former Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan was also present with Shah during the road show. There was tremendous enthusiasm among the people after having Shah among them and on this occasion they also showered flower petals.
Called for electing Pon Radhakrishnan
Amit Shah called upon the people of Kanyakumari to elect Pon Radhakrishnan on April 19. The Union Minister and senior BJP leader said that BJP candidates have been welcomed with enthusiasm across Tamil Nadu. He said that the people of the state have accepted the last ten years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rule. He also attacked the corrupt and dynastic rule of DMK and asked people to teach it a lesson. The Union Home Minister said that BJP’s message of ‘Ab ki baar, chaar sau paar’ is accepted across Tamil Nadu.
Welcomed with the slogan of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’
Shah asked voters of Kanyakumari Lok Sabha seat to elect Pon Radhakrishnan to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Apart from this, he asked the people to support Bharatiya Janata Party’s Vilavancode assembly by-election candidate V.S. Also called for electing Nandini. The by-election is being held in Vilavancode after sitting MLA and Congress leader Vijayavardhini resigned from the party and joined BJP. Party workers and supporters welcomed Amit Shah with flower petals and slogans of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ along the 2.5 kilometer route.
