Human hair smuggling on the border of India and Bangladesh in the Indian state of West Bengal is becoming a headache for Border Security Force personnel. In the last one year, BSF has confiscated about 400 kg of human hair from here. It is worth mentioning that human hair is in great demand in the wig industry. Describing this, BSF Frontier DIG SS Guleria said that till now 47 kg of human hair has been confiscated in this year itself. Whereas in the last full year this figure was 397 kg.
It is noteworthy that on March 3, about 38 kg of human hair was confiscated in 10 sacks from Tehta in Nadia district of Bengal. According to officials, the human hair that picks up waste from across the country is sent to Murshidabad in West Bengal by agents and middlemen. Let us tell you that many hair processing factories have come up in places like Naugao, Kushtia, Rajshahi and Dinajpur in Bangladesh. Where human hair is sold at a price ranging from 5000 to 10 thousand rupees per kg depending on the size and quality.
