According to a report in The New Indian Express, Hemvati (73) lived alone in an apartment in Nacharam, Secunderabad. His son Shashidhar lives in London. The son had appointed P Bhargavi in August 2021 to look after him by staying at home. Since then, caretaker P Bhargavi started living with the elder of her seven-year-old daughter and waited for an opportunity to steal the house.
Harpic and Zandu gave balm to put in the eyes
In October 2020, P Bhargavi noticed that Hemvati was rubbing her eyes, on which he asked her to put medicine in her eyes. P Bhargavi gives the harpic, which cleans the bathroom, and mixes Zandu balm with water. A few days later, Hemvati told her son that she had developed an eye infection. On this he was referred to the nearest hospital. However, when his eyesight deteriorated, his daughter Urvashi took him to the hospital, but nothing could be found.
family members suspected
When the woman had completely lost her eyesight, her son Shashidhar came to Hyderabad and took her to the LV Prasad Eye Hospital. After examination, the doctor in the hospital told that he had lost his eyesight due to pouring poisonous substance in the eyes. On this the family got suspicious of the caretaker and they complained to the nearest police station.
money and jewelry were stolen
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against caretaker P Bhargavi. On rigorous interrogation, P Bhargavi revealed that he blinded the elderly woman and stole Rs 40,000, two Soni bangles, one Soni chain and other jewellery. Police arrested the woman and sent her to judicial custody.
