ICC Rankings Update: The rankings have been released once again by the ICC. Meanwhile, even though Team India captain Rohit Sharma has not played any ODI match since the ODI World Cup 2023, he seems to be getting an advantage in the ODI rankings this time. The special thing is that 3 Indian batsmen have managed to make it to the top 5. Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam still holds the number one position.
Babar Azam number one batsman in ICC ODI rankings
This time the Test rankings have not been updated by the ICC yet, because no special Test took place last week, hence the ICC has released the ODI rankings. Although there is not much change here too, still some players have moved here and there. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Babar Azam remains at number one. His rating at present is 824.
Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Rohit in top 5
India’s Shubhman Gill remains at the second position. He is on this chair with a rating of 801. There is not much difference between Babar Azam and Shubman Gill. But currently both these players will not play ODI. Former captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli is at the third position with a rating of 768. Indian captain Rohit Sharma has gained one place. He has now moved straight from number 5 to number 4. His rating is 764.
Rohit gained one place
Rohit Sharma has not played any ODI for some time, but he has benefited from the poor play of Harry Tector. Earlier, Harry Tector was at fourth position, but now he is at par with Rohit Sharma with a rating of 746. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell is at number six with a rating of 728 and David Warner is at seventh position with a rating of 723.
Pathum Nissanka took a long jump
Pathum Nissanka of Sri Lanka has benefited, getting a chance to jump three places. He has now come in the top 10. His rating is currently 711. England’s David Malan has dropped one place to ninth position. His rating is 707. South Africa’s Rossi Van der Dussen is at number ten with a rating of 701 and has managed to secure his place in the top 10.
