Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Wednesday that the opposition parties will face defeat on the no-confidence motion and that he will not resign under any circumstances. Imran Khan said that the opposition has laid all its cards, but the no-confidence motion against him will not succeed. He categorically denied resigning under any pressure.
Geo News quoted Imran Khan as saying, ‘I will not resign under any circumstances. I will play till the last ball and surprise them the day before because they are still under pressure. He, however, did not give any details. He further said, ‘No one should be under the misunderstanding that I will sit at home. I will not resign. Should I resign under pressure from thieves?’
It is worth noting that the President of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Asad Qaiser, has called a session on March 25 to discuss the no-confidence motion. Khan said that he would not compromise on corruption under any circumstances. He also accused the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) of doing politics of “corruption”.
