Bhilai. Management provides mobile as a better communication facility to the employees working in SAIL including Bhilai Steel Plant for smooth functioning of the plant. Where on one hand all the privileged officers are given money to buy mobile along with SIM to use in the plant.
The same employee is given a talktime SIM of Rs.150/-. Which is also used by the employee by putting it in his personal phone. From time to time, trade unions have been registering objections on this matter, but there has been no change in the attitude of the plant management on this matter. Where high-paid officers are allowed to buy mobiles ranging from three and a half thousand rupees to 10000 rupees according to their grade.
Employees buy mobiles at their own expense
Bhilai Steel Plant provides plant funds to the officials to buy mobiles like laptops and furniture allowance. Officers are paid as per their eligibility on depositing the bill after purchasing the mobile.
Thus every third year an officer can apply for purchase of a new mobile while the employees have to use the mobile purchased at their own cost for plant works. It is necessary to mention here that the employees also work here at the same level as the officers.
Management’s discretion in sim distribution
In order to provide mobile facility to the employees, it was done in the salary agreement of 2007 in NJCS, after which the employees working above S-9 in D cluster were to be given mobile facility according to seniority but the management implemented this facility as GN communication facility. By bypassing the seniority, make available the same facility to the selected employees. Now the situation is that in the plant where S-4 grade employees are working with BSP SIM, the same S-11 like thousands of Udha GREAT employees have SIM. There is no facility.
Stop discrimination against employees
Ujjwal Dutta, president of trade union BSP Works Union, has raised an objection to the discriminatory attitude of the management and demanded equanimity for the employees.
Where on the one hand there is a provision of mobiles, magazines to laptops, furniture and uniforms with huge allowances to the officers. At the same time, employees have to buy mobiles to work in the plant after spending 8.5 percent less basic allowance than the officers, as well as spending from their salary.
