New Delhi. The Indian team will start the 5 Test series against England on 25 January. Many players have got a chance for this series. But some players proved to be a big issue due to their exclusion, in which veterans like Ajikya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara are big names. Both the players have not returned for a long time. Now before the start of the series, Team India captain Rohit Sharma has given his reaction regarding these senior players as to why both the players are not returning.
Rohit Sharma clarified in the press conference why Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara are not getting a chance? While discussing senior players in the press conference, Rohit Sharma said, ‘We thought about senior players. But then when will the young players get the opportunities? The decision to exclude senior players is not easy. He has scored a lot of runs, won so many matches and also has a lot of experience. In such a situation, it is not easy to ignore them. But you have to give a chance to new players also. I think it is important to give opportunities to young players.
Virat Kohli took a break
Team India’s star batsman Virat Kohli took a break from the first two Tests due to personal reasons. Young batsman Rajat Patidar has got a chance in place of Kohli. Patidar, playing for India A, executed a mountain inning of 151 runs against England Lions. Now it will be interesting to see how Patidars are able to capitalize on this opportunity.
