Ranchi. India registered a spectacular 7-wicket win against South Africa in a do or die match to level the series 1-1 in the 3-match ODI series. At the start of the match, South Africa, batting first, scored a huge total of 278 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs. In response, the Indian team batted brilliantly and won the match with 27 balls to spare. For India, Ishan Kishan scored 93 runs and Shreyas Iyer played an innings of 113 runs, due to which the match became one-sided for India. India scored 282 for three in 45.5 overs. Shreyas Iyer scored the highest 113 runs for India.
Earlier, South Africa, batting first in the second ODI, scored 278 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs. Reeza Hendrix (74) and Aidan Markram (79) also played half-centuries for Africa. Opting to bat first, South Africa did not have a good start. In the third over, Mohammad Siraj cleaned up star batsman Quinton de Kock and sent him to the pavilion. He could only score 5 runs in 8 balls.
