IND Vs SA: The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa was played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Indian captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and decided to bowl first. In front of India’s bowling, South Africa had set a simple target of 250 runs for India. In reply, Team India could only score 240 runs for eight wickets in 40 overs. The rain had knocked before the start of the match, due to which the match was 40-40 overs.
The amazing thing was that despite giving initial setbacks to the African team, Team India could not stop them on a low score. The Indian bowlers could not do much in front of the African batsmen after giving the initial setbacks.
Batting first, South Africa scored 249 runs in 40 overs for the loss of four wickets. David Miller remained unbeaten on 75 off 63 balls and Heinrich Klaasen 74 off 65 balls. In reply, Team India could score only 240 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 40 overs. Sanju Samson played an unbeaten innings of 86 runs in 63 balls. At the same time, the vice-captain Shreyas Iyer scored 50 runs.
With this win, South Africa have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. The next ODI will be played on October 9 at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi. On the other hand, the second Indian team is going to leave for Australia for the T20 World Cup.
