India won the first match by 62 runs and the second T20 by seven wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, Sri Lanka scored 146 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. The top four batsmen of Sri Lanka could not even touch the double figure. These include Pathum Nishanka (1 run), Gunatilaka (0), Charith Aslanka (4 runs) and Janith Lianage (9 runs). After this, wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Chandimal and captain Dasun Shanaka put on a 31-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Chandimal was dismissed after scoring 22 runs.

Shreyas ends the match with a four. He remained unbeaten on 73 off 45 balls. It included nine fours and a six. At the same time, Jadeja remained unbeaten on 22 runs off 15 balls. Lahiru Kumara got two wickets from Sri Lanka. Apart from this, Dushmantha Chameera and Chamika Karunaratne got one wicket each.
