Talking about the performance of Team India, Rohit Sharma, who came to bat first for India, was made his victim by Sri Lankan bowler Dilshan Madushanka. He dismissed Rohit for 4 runs. After this Virat took charge. He scored 88 runs in 94 balls, but Dilshan Madushanka got him caught by Nissanka and walked away. Because of which he missed scoring a century. If Virat had managed to score a century today, he would have equaled Sachin Tendulkar in the ODI match. If we talk about Gill’s performance, he too was out after scoring 92 runs in 92 balls. Madushanka got him caught by Kusal Mendis and walked away. Due to which he missed scoring a century.
Whereas, after the dismissal of Virat and Gill, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul took the lead. KL Rahul scored 21 runs in 19 balls, while Shreyaar Iyer scored 82 runs in 56 balls. But after this, Dushmantha Chameera got Rahul caught out by Dushan Hemant and sent him to the pavilion. Whereas, Shreyas Iyer played the shot in the air, after which Sean Abbott caught the catch in the follow through. After this the on-field umpire declared Shreyas Iyer out. At the same time, Surya Kumar Yadav was able to score 12 runs on 9 balls. Ravindra Jadeja contributed 35 runs on 24 balls. Mohammed Shami was able to score 2 runs in 4 balls and Jasprit Bumrah was able to score 1 run in 1 ball. In this way, the batting department of Team India scored 357 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs and gave a target of 358 runs to Sri Lanka.

At the same time, the performance of Sri Lankan batsmen who came to chase the target was very poor. All the batsmen who came to bat first for Sri Lanka got scattered like a pack of cards. The Sri Lankan team was all out for 55 runs. For India, Mohammed Shami took the first wicket, while Siraj took 3 wickets, Jadeja and Bumrah took one wicket each. In this way, Team India has so far hoisted the flag of victory in seven matches of the World Cup 2023.
