New Delhi: Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has achieved great achievements in space since its inception. But under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ISRO has increased its pace in the last 10 years. Hence, India has reached from the south pole of the Moon to Venus and L1 of the Sun. ISRO’s success has made not only Indians proud but the entire humanity. That is why the whole world has become convinced of ISRO’s efficiency. A senior World Economic Forum (WEF) official said the enthusiasm for space in India is attracting talent from across the world and motivating them to start businesses and contribute to the development of the sector.
WEF’s platform ‘Centre for Fourth Industrial Revolution’ (C4IR) launched the Space Technology Program in India last week to build global collaboration among various stakeholders as the private space sector takes off in the country. “India is seen as a role model, a beacon for smaller, aspiring space nations, who also look to India for support,” C4IR executive committee member Sebastian Bacup told PTI. He said that WEF seeks to facilitate exchanges between major and emerging countries in the region to promote the space sector holistically in an inclusive and responsible manner.
India is investing heavily in launching satellites
Bacup said India is investing in shared infrastructure, for example in small satellite launch infrastructure that could eventually become the equivalent of digital public infrastructure. He said that if India managed to create “space public infrastructure”, it would give a boost to space entrepreneurship. Bacup held meetings with various stakeholders in the space sector during his visit to India, including officials from the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre, Indian Space Research Organization and representatives of space start-ups.
India joins the world at the top of space
Bacup said, “I think many people outside India are still describing India as an emerging nation in the field of space. The reality is that India has come into the top class in the space sector. He said it provides an opportunity to change the narrative and will help the world understand what India has actually achieved. In a way, India has become a ray of hope for all the countries of the world in space. (Language)
