new Delhi. The Defense Ministry said on Saturday that India and China discussed during the 15th round of Corp Commander-level talks to resolve the ongoing border dispute along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The two countries carried forward the discussions held in the previous round held on January 12, 2022, to address the related issues along the LAC in the western region.
A joint statement issued by the Defense Ministry in India on Saturday said that the 15th Sino-India Corps Commander level meeting was held on March 11, 2022 at the Chushul-Moldo border rendezvous on the Indian side.
Both sides carried forward the discussions held in the previous round held on 12 January 2022 to address the related issues along the LAC in the Western Region.
“Keeping in mind the guidance given by the state leaders for early resolution of the remaining issues, there was a detailed exchange of views between them in this regard,” the statement said.
They reaffirmed that such a proposal would help restore peace and tranquility along the LAC in the western region and facilitate progress in bilateral relations.
“The two sides also agreed to maintain security and stability on the ground in the western region,” the statement said.
They agreed to continue dialogue through military and diplomatic channels to reach a mutually acceptable solution on the remaining issues at the earliest.
So far, fourteen rounds of talks have resulted in the settlement of the north and south coast of Pangong Tso, Galwan and Gogra hot spring areas.
Both sides are now focusing on resolving the remaining friction zones. The border dispute between India and China has been going on for almost two years.
