The help of MI-17 helicopter of the Indian Air Force is being taken to extinguish the fire in the forests of Nainital. On Saturday, this helicopter filled water from Bhimtal Lake and with its help an attempt will be made to control the forest fire. It has been 36 hours since the fire broke out in the forest of Nainital, but till now the forest department has not been able to control it. For this reason the Forest Department has sought help from the Indian Army and Indian Air Force. This fire has so far burnt to ashes the forest spread over several hectares in Nainital.
The forest fire has now reached residential areas. For this reason, the help of the army is being taken to control it. Keeping security in mind. Boating has been banned in Naini Lake. Nainital Division Forest Officer Chandrashekhar Joshi said that 40 personnel and two forest rangers from Morna Range have been deployed to extinguish the fire.
Flames reached High Court Colony
The flames have reached Nainital High Court Colony. Due to fire in the pine forests on Nainital Bhawali Road, the entire road is covered in smoke. ITI building has also been hit by fire. In the last 24 hours, 31 new cases of fire have been reported in Uttarakhand. 33.34 hectares of forests have been burnt to ashes. On Friday, three people were arrested in Rudraprayag who were trying to set fire to the forest. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed all officials to be alert and take every necessary step for security. Along with this, he has asked the officers of all the departments to maintain coordination.
