The Pralay surface-to-surface missile has been successfully test-fired by India on Wednesday. This missile has the capability to hit targets ranging from 150 km to 500 km. Information about this was given by DRDO. The test was conducted by DRDO from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Orissa. Solid fuel has been used in the missile.
According to sources, the missile successfully completed all types of tests during the test. Pralay missile is capable of carrying bombs ranging from 500 to 1000 kg. The missile was being continuously monitored during the test. During this the missile had hit its target.

“The mission has accomplished all its objectives. The new missile followed the desired quasi-ballistic trajectory and reached the specified target with high accuracy, validating the control, guidance and mission algorithms. All the sub-systems performed satisfactorily. All sensors deployed near the impact point on the east coast, including downrange ships, tracked the missile trajectory and captured all incidents, the official release said.
