For a long time there has been talk of reforming the United Nations and giving India a permanent seat in the Security Council. However, till now no major step has been taken in this matter. Now India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has made a big claim in this regard. Jaishankar said on Tuesday that India will definitely get permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). But S Jaishankar has also said that the country will have to work hard for this this time. Let us know what he has said.
Nothing great is achieved without hard work
During talks in Rajkot city of Gujarat, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that there is a feeling all over the world that India should get permanent membership. This feeling is increasing every year. S Jaishankar said that we will definitely achieve permanent membership, but without hard work nothing big is achieved. He said that we have to work hard and this time we have to work harder.
this has been going on for many years
S Jaishankar said that the UN was established about 80 years ago and China, France, Russia, Britain and America decided among themselves to become permanent members. At that time there were 50 independent countries in the world, which has now increased to 193. However, five countries control the UN and the strange thing is that you have to ask for their approval for any change. Some countries agree and give their stand honestly and some countries do something from behind. This has been going on for many years.
Has the United Nations become weak?
S Jaishankar has informed that India, Japan, Germany and Egypt have jointly presented a proposal to the United Nations. With this, matters are expected to move forward a little. However, Jaishankar also said that we should create pressure and when this pressure increases, a feeling arises in the world that the United Nations has become weak. He said there was a deadlock in the UN over the Ukraine war and no consensus could be reached in the UN regarding Gaza. As this feeling increases, our chances of getting a permanent seat will also increase. (input language)
