The matter of controversial statement made by former Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Nupur Sharma on Prophet Mohammad is gaining momentum. Many Arab and Islamic countries have condemned this. At the same time, a lot of TV debate is happening in India on this issue. On one such private news channel, Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Reena Gupta said that even small countries are reprimanding our ambassadors because of the actions of the BJP.
Let us inform that Reena Gupta on Aaj Tak channel said, “Our country was known all over the world for its Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb. But since the BJP came to power, the hate speech has increased.” The AAP spokesperson said, “Due to the actions of the BJP, today small countries like Indonesia are calling our ambassadors and reprimanding them. The BJP has humiliated the entire country.”
On this, Anchor Chitra Tripathi interrupted Reena Gupta and said, “How can you take the whole country under wraps because of the bad language of some people?” The anchor said that if two people made such remarks, then how could it take the whole country under wraps. Did you or I make such a statement? After all, why do we consider India to be so small and narrow minded.
Further, Reena Gupta said that Indian ambassadors abroad are being reprimanded. Two minor BJP leaders who have forfeited their deposits in the elections, didn’t the BJP have any other spokespersons?
On this the anchor said that what is this small leader, Reena ji? This method is not right. Those who made controversial statements have been removed by his party. But you cannot call the statement of two people as the statement of the whole country.
Let us inform that while many Muslim countries have objected to Nupur Sharma’s statement, while Netherlands MP Geert Wilders has supported Nupur Sharma’s statement. He wrote in one of his tweets, “It is ridiculous that Arab and Islamic countries are asking India to apologize. Why should India apologize?”
The Dutch MP wrote in another tweet, “Appeasement never works. It will only make things worse. So my dear friends of India, don’t be afraid of Islamic countries.”
