Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said that the prices of petrol and diesel were increasing as soon as the UP elections were announced, it stopped. As soon as the elections were over, the prices started rising again. Raised the prices by around Rs 10 per liter and reduced the prices by Rs 8-9 by announcing yesterday. This is a matter of deceiving the public.
During the UPA government, excise duty was Rs 10, which they increased to Rs 32. The states also had their share, but now they have imposed additional excise duty, all the money of which goes to their account only.
Gehlot has given the credit of this decision of the government to the Congress party. He has said that the central government has taken this decision under pressure from the opposition. Due to the continuous protests by the Congress against inflation across the country and the pressure of public awareness campaign against the inflation set in the Navsankalp camp in Udaipur, the Central Government today had to decide to reduce the excise duty on petrol and diesel.
On the other hand, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala has tweeted and said that do not fool the public. The government increased the price of petrol by Rs 10 in 2 months – now what do you want to tell by giving a discount of Rs 9 and a half.

Keep in mind that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made this announcement on the previous day. Sitharaman said- We are reducing the central excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per liter and on diesel by Rs 6 per liter. This will reduce the price of petrol by Rs 9.5 per liter and that of diesel by Rs 7 per liter.
Sitharaman has urged state governments to implement similar cuts. He said that he appeals to all the state governments, especially those states where the deduction was not made last time, to make similar cuts.
