Violent protests are taking place across the country against the Agneepath scheme. Against the scheme, youth protesters are taking to the streets, vandalizing and setting vehicles on fire. Furious protesters set fire to trains in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana. In such a situation, during the TV debate on News24, BJP spokesperson Prem Shukla said that the normal process of recruitment in the army will not stop. In response, the SP spokesperson demanded the Defense Minister to get the same statement made.
The BJP spokesperson said that 60 thousand youth are recruited in the army every year but 25% of the 46,000 selected under the Agneepath scheme will be kept. Which means only 11,500 Agniveers will be retained and the remaining 48,500 people will come to the army through the rest of the process. On which the anchor raised the question that the normal system of recruitment in the army will be applicable even after the arrival of Agneepath? In response to which Prem Shukla said that that process will not stop. On this, the anchor said that neither the Defense Minister or any Army Chief has said this thing, just make it clear to them.
Get a statement from the Defense Minister: In response to this statement of the BJP spokesperson, SP spokesperson Udayveer Singh said that after four years 75% of the youth who will be recruited from Agneepath will be shortlisted. In such a situation, as much as the need of the army has been recruited from this scheme itself, in such a situation, if the old process is going on, then they should get the same statement from the Defense Minister once.
The anchor raised the question whether there was haste in implementing the scheme or the youth were not properly explained about it, the result of which we are seeing in front? In response, Prem Shukla said, “All the things have been told and explained to the youth and a golden opportunity is being provided to the youth which they should take advantage of.” He said that instead of those who deserve, some people are protesting to protest later because they have been defeated again and again.
Scheme in the interest of youth: BJP Spokesperson said that those youths who are hoping to join the army are demonstrating under the influence of someone, an FIR of the state government will automatically debar them from the competition. His desire to be will be lost. Prem Shukla said that the army officers who have been involved in the cadre allotment or recruitment process for a long time have come out with a scheme in the interest of the youth after a long study of two years. People are instigating the youth by spreading confusion on this.
