Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday hit out at the Trinamool Congress in the Lok Sabha, saying the BJP does not rule any state by killing opposition leaders. Referring to the recent incidents of violence in West Bengal and incidents of violence after the results of assembly elections were declared last year, Amit Shah said, “Yes, we (BJP) want to contest elections everywhere, but our ideology, performance and depending on the program. Even TMC had gone to Goa to contest elections, but we don’t want to rule any state by killing opposition leaders and raping women.”
Taking a dig at Congress, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Those who can’t get their party elected, they are preaching to us about democracy.” Amit Shah also alleged that Congress had imposed Emergency out of its fear. Referring to the Emergency imposed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Amit Shah said, “We are not afraid of any election, but we have a history of how the Emergency was imposed out of fear.”
Amit Shah said the BJP is not afraid of any election, adding that “win or defeat is part of democracy”. On Aam Aadmi Party’s allegation of hanging Delhi MCD polls out of fear of defeat, Amit Shah said, “Why should we be afraid of AAP? If they are so sure of winning the election, they can win the election even after six months. Why the apprehension?”
Referring to the recently concluded assembly elections, Amit Shah said, “Aam Aadmi Party’s security has been forfeited in all the seats in UP. They lost all the seats in Uttarakhand, they didn’t even go to Manipur. They lost badly in Goa as well.” Arvind Kejriwal recently accused BJP of hanging the Delhi MCD election and said that if BJP wins here, he will leave politics. He said that in this way BJP will postpone the elections of Gujarat and Maharashtra also tomorrow. It is undemocratic.
