The Modi government has taken an important decision for the students who want to study medicine. Under which reservation has now been implemented for OBC and EWS category in medical courses. According to this new decision of the government, the government will provide 27 percent reservation for OBC students and 10 percent for EWS students in medical courses such as MBBS, MD, MS, BDS or MDS in undergraduate or graduate medical and dental courses.
With the help of this scheme of the government, 550 EWS students in MBBS and 1000 EWS students will be benefited every year. On the other hand, 1500 OBC and 2500 students aspiring for MBBS will find it easy to get an undergraduate degree. Its benefit can be taken from any state government-run institution under the All India Quota Scheme. Before this, there was no quota under AIQ till 2007.

But in the year 2007, when the Central Educational Institutions Act came into force, along with SC and ST, OBC quota was also getting reservation. But still this rule was applicable only in central educational institutions. But it was also implemented by the government in the State Medical and Dental Colleges. Explain that the government had made a constitutional amendment in the year 2019 itself to give reservation to backward classes and EWS. After which reservation was started for students under EWS category.
