On Wednesday, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur took a big decision regarding the farmers. He announced the decision of CCEA on Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Kharif crops. He informed that the MSP of 17 crops and 14 Kharif crops has been approved in the cabinet meeting. However, it was also interesting during this time that Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was not present during the announcement of matters related to farmers.
In fact, when a major decision related to a ministry is announced, there is the presence of the minister in charge of the ministry. But when Union Minister Anurag Thakar announced the MSP on Wednesday, neither Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar nor Union Ministers of State for Agriculture Shobha Karandlaje and Kailash Choudhary were present.
According to the information, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was busy in a meeting in his office. Dr. L. Murugan, Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Dairying along with Anurag Thakur was present during the briefing. The decision to increase the MSP is believed to be in the interest of the farmers, in such a situation, the absence of the Agriculture Minister during this big announcement is shocking.
Let us inform that Union Minister Anurag Thakur informed about the MSP that the Central Government on Wednesday approved an increase of Rs 100 per kg in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for various Kharif (summer) crops for the year 2022-23. Is. The cabinet has increased the MSP of paddy by Rs 100 to Rs 2,040 per quintal. He informed that the MSP of Kharif crops will also be increased for the year 2022-23 crop year.
Farmers will be benefited by the increase in MSP on Kharif crops. The highest absolute increase in MSP has been recommended for Sesame – Rs 523 per quintal, Moong – Rs 480 per quintal and Sunflower seed – Rs 385 per quintal as compared to last year. Apart from this, the support price of A grade paddy has been increased from Rs 1,960 to Rs 2,060 per quintal.
Anurag Thakur informed that this time the MSP of 17 crops has been increased along with all 14 Kharif crops and their varieties. With the increase in prices, farmers will produce more crops and they will get a better price for their crops. Due to this, exports can also increase along with production in the country.
