The Backward and Minority Community Employees Federation (BAMCEF) has announced a Bharat Bandh on Wednesday. Bharat Bandh has been announced to demand caste census across the country. Demand has been raised from many states in the past regarding this, but till now the central government has not taken any decision on this.
Along with this, Bharat Bandh has also been announced for some other demands. These include non-use of EVMs in elections, caste census, providing reservation to SC, ST and OBC in the private sector, guaranteeing MSP to farmers and demanding non-implementation of CAA and NRC, etc.
Regarding Bharat Bandh, BAMCEF President Vaman Meshram said that this movement has been supported by Rashtriya Parivartan Morcha, Bharat Mukti Morcha, Bahujan Mukti Morcha and many other organizations. At the same time, it is being said about its impact that this organization does not have a big name in India and no major party has announced its support. In such a situation, there is doubt about the success of Bharat Bandh. Nevertheless, this shutdown can affect many things.
Which services will be affected
Due to Bharat Bandh, transport and market services in many states may be affected. Shops can be closed in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu. At some places, the protesters can also stop the train. However, it is not going to have a nationwide effect. People have been appealed on social media to keep their shops closed to make Bharat Bandh.
Movements already done
Significantly, the demand for caste census has been raised in many states including Bihar. At the same time, there have been agitations in the past regarding the demand for reservation in private sectors and the guarantee of MSP of farmers, on which the government has agreed and disagreed.
