In Gujarat, BJP minister Purnesh Modi has said that Nathuram Godse has nothing to do with BJP and RSS. In fact, the opposition Congress alleged that the ruling BJP has a soft stand on Nathuram Godse. On Tuesday, Purnesh Modi retaliated in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly.
It is worth mentioning that earlier in the House, senior Congress MLAs Punja Vansh and Shailesh Parmar criticized the BJP. Referring to some recent incidents, he claimed that Nathuram Godse, the assassin of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, is being given more importance in Gujarat during the BJP rule.
On the other hand, BJP minister Purnesh Modi on the Congress’s central leadership on the wrong perception of “saffron terrorism”, said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh makes people nationalists and instills a sense of patriotism among citizens. He said that the BJP does not believe in the politics of appeasement.
Congress MLA’s allegation: In fact, Congress MLA Naushad Solanki said that Godse is being glorified in Gujarat. He described Godse as the first terrorist of independent India.
The Congress MLA said that the RSS did not raise the tricolor at its headquarters in Nagpur for 52 years and talks of nationalism.
BJP’s counterattack: On this, former education minister Bhupendra Chudasama in the BJP government replied that the government and the BJP never glorified Godse. He said that even in the Sangh’s branch, it is taught to assimilate the ideals of Gandhiji. The allegations leveled by Congress are baseless. She is always trying to create controversy.
