India has made a big achievement in the field of vaccination against coronavirus. The number of doses of corona vaccine given so far in the country has crossed 200 crores. India has achieved this feat in 546 days. It took 277 days for India to reach 100 crore vaccines. At the same time, the World Health Organization (WHO) has praised the number of vaccinations reaching 200 crores in India.
Dr Poonam Khetrapal Singh, Regional Director, WHO South-East Asia, said, “Congratulations to India for providing over 200 crore corona vaccine doses. This is yet another testament to the country’s commitment and efforts to mitigate the impact of the pandemic.” PM Narendra Modi has also congratulated the nation for crossing 200 crore vaccine doses and strengthening the global fight against Corona. At the same time, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that it is a matter of pride for us that India has so far crossed 200 crore doses of COVID19 vaccine.
So far in the country, the maximum 25 million doses of vaccine in a single day were administered on September 17, 2021. At the same time, on 27 August 2021, for the first time in the country, the number of vaccinations in a day crossed the number of 1 crore. However, in India, that enthusiasm has not been seen among the people regarding the booster dose, then it was seen about the first and second doses. So far, only 5.62 crore people have received booster doses in the country.
In such a situation, the government has decided to apply booster dose free to citizens above 18 years of age. The government has also reduced the gap for corona booster dose in the country. Now it can be installed after 6 months instead of 9 months. After the decision of the government, now all people of 8 years or above will now be able to take booster dose in 6 months.
This was announced by Union Minister Anurag Thakur after the cabinet meeting recently. He had told that India is celebrating 75 years of independence. In such a situation, on the occasion of Amrit Kaal of Independence, the government has decided that from July 15, 2022, for the next 75 days, free booster dose will be given to citizens of 18 years to 59 years. After this decision of the government, people will be able to take booster doses for free like the first two doses of corona vaccine.
