Due to Diwali festivals, there has been a lot of congestion in trains. The increasing rush also increases the chances of various accidents taking place in the train. In such a situation, an official notification has been issued for railway passengers in view of fire or other accidents in trains. For the convenience and safety of the passengers, restrictions have been placed on the carrying of certain things by the Railways.
It was informed by tweeting by the Railways that passengers will not be able to carry any flammable material during the journey of the train. If any passenger does not follow this rule then it will be a punishable offence. In doing so, they can be imprisoned in addition to legal proceedings. According to West Central Railway, setting fire to a train or carrying inflammable material is a punishable offense under the Railways Act 1989.
The person shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both. No combustible material such as kerosene, petrol, firecrackers or gas cylinders will be kept while traveling in the train. According to the tweet of the Railways, passengers will not be able to travel with things like kerosene, dry grass, stove, petrol in the box. Railways has taken this step to keep the passengers safe. Apart from this, smoking is also a punishable offense, if anyone is caught doing so, he can also be jailed for up to three years.
