The rules for the disposal of electric equipment in the country will be more strict. For this, the Environment Ministry of the Central Government has prepared a new format for this. According to the ministry, the damage to the environment will be reduced. In the new provision, the central government has brought a provision to fine the violators and even to cancel the registration.
The Environment Ministry of the Central Government has prepared a draft of new rules citing the provisions of the Environment Protection Act 1986 and has also sought the opinion of the general public on this draft. Any citizen or concerned agencies can send their suggestions for new provisions in this matter to the Ministry within the stipulated time frame. After these suggestions, further process will be initiated to implement the new laws and provisions. According to the Ministry of Environment, the new provisions will ensure that the disposal of electric waste is done according to the prescribed rules so that its impact on health and environment can be reduced.
Through this process, an initiative has been taken to bring the work from electric generation to its disposal or their reconstruction under the purview of one law and their responsibilities have also been fixed. To monitor all these people, the central government will prepare a portal and all the agencies will be connected on that portal itself. Provision has been made in the set rules that if any agency is found violating the prescribed rules, then fine can also be imposed against that agency under Environment Rule 28. However, how much this amount will be, it has not been clarified in the rules.
