What is the 1968 agreement
In 1946, Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Trust was formed by Jugal Kishore Birla to maintain the land. In 1968, the Trust made an agreement with the Muslim side. The entire management of the Shahi Idgah Masjid was handed over to the Muslims. In the petition filed on behalf of Ranjana Agnihotri, Vishnu Shankar Jain etc., this agreement has been termed as illegal. It has been argued that the trust had no right to compromise. The debate on revision lasted for one and a half years, this petition was debated on different dates from October 2020 to May 5, 2022 as revision. After the completion of the debate on May 5, the court had given the date of May 19 to accept it or not.
