The Government of India has said that it has announced the recruitment of 46000 Agniveers for the three services in the Indian Army under the Agneepath scheme. However, there has been an agitation in the whole country against this recruitment. Out of these, the states in which the movement has broken out. 60 percent of the youth of the same states who are witnessing maximum opposition to this recruitment being brought by the Modi government are successful in recruitment in the army.
If we look at the figures of army recruitment two years ago in the years 2018-19 and 2019-20, then we get to know this thing clearly. Among the states where protests are being held against the Agneepath scheme, mainly 11 states and one union territory are named. (Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana, Assam and West Bengal) If we talk about the maximum number of army recruits in these states, then in these states, Uttar Pradesh is at the fore. According to the data shared by the Union Defense Ministry in Parliament this year, a total of 53,431 recruitments were done in 2018-19 and 80,572 people were hired in 2019-20.
Protests happening in these states of the country
Let us tell you that as soon as the government announced the Agneepath scheme, sparks of protest erupted in many states of the country simultaneously. There are many states including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, Rajasthan among the protesting states, from where a large number of soldiers are recruited in the army. At present, in all these states, Bihar has the most violent agitation regarding this scheme. In Bihar, the maximum number of cases of violence, arson and sabotage have been reported in connection with the protests.
Despite the opposition, the government will recruit 46000
The government has approved 46000 vacancies despite strong protests across the country. The announcement was made by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in the presence of the media after the Agneepath scheme was approved in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security. Rajnath Singh had said, “The Agneepath Recruitment Scheme is a revolutionary initiative, which will recognize a youthful ‘profile’ of the armed forces.” On the other hand, according to Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, “Agneepath scheme aims to bring about a radical change in recruitment in the armed forces.” For this, the government has also given information about the benefits of recruitment for Agniveers.
Recruitments are closed since last two years
For the last two years, the recruitment in the army is going on closed, many examinations were canceled due to the Corona period. Some of these candidates had written examination pending and some candidates had medical test pending. Recruitment was stopped for two years due to Corona epidemic. In such extreme circumstances, the central government did not take care of such candidates who had passed many examinations and some were left. Meanwhile, the government dashed the hopes of these candidates by launching the Agneepath scheme. Now their displeasure has erupted due to the delay in the recruitment of the youths who are preparing. And the fire of agitation has flared up all over the country.
