On World Population Day, CM Yogi once again targeted the increasing population of Muslims. He said that increasing the population of one class would only lead to anarchy. He said that it should not happen that the speed and percentage of population of any section is more and those who are natives, by running awareness campaigns, their population should be controlled and imbalance should be created.
However, BJP leaders did not seem to agree with him. Former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the massive population explosion is not the problem of any religion, but the problem of the country, it is not justified to link it with caste, religion. Naqvi directly dismissed Yogi’s concern. Keep in mind that after the end of Naqvi’s Rajya Sabha term, he has been discharged from the Modi cabinet. BJP neither fielded him from anywhere in the Rajya Sabha elections nor gave him a ticket in the Rampur by-election.
In a program in Lucknow, Yogi Adityanath expressed concern over the increasing population and said that the population control program should go ahead successfully, but with this it should also be taken care that the situation of demographic imbalance should not arise. CM Yogi said that we all know that for the last five years, mass awareness programs are being run across the country regarding population stabilization. Population is also the achievement of society on a certain scale. But this achievement is only when the society can achieve the state of health and wellness.
The wild population explosion is not a religion, it is a problem of the country, it is not permissible to associate it with caste, religion? #populationday2022

Uttar Pradesh Law Commission had prepared the draft
In August 2021, the Uttar Pradesh Law Commission had submitted a draft to the Chief Minister regarding the population control policy and now it is awaited that when this population control policy will be finally implemented in the state. A draft population control was prepared by the then chairman of the UP State Law Commission, Justice AN Mittal. Many important things were said in this draft, in which it is clear that those who have more than 2 children will not be given government jobs and those who are in government jobs will not get promotion.
In this 260-page report, the State Law Commission had also sought the opinion of the common people on many things. Some people had also suggested that if there are more than 2 children, they should not be allowed to contest the election of MLA and MP. For the time being it is in cold storage.
