TV Debate on Varansi Gyanvaapi: The discussion about Varanasi’s Gyanvapi is not taking its name to an end, Professor Junaid of Delhi’s Jamia University once again started talking about Buddhist Viharas and Stupas during a private TV debate show, this UHF Chief Responding to him, he said – when temples are being talked about why do you go to Buddhist viharas. Professor Junaid said, if this historian should orchestrate this discussion, it is understandable, but if it is done politically to make an opinion in the public, then it is a very strange thing.
Professor Junaid further said, ‘I am asking this question because when our country became independent, our constitution was made, the 1991 Act came to us, so now the meaning of raising such issues is that what should we say now? Are you? How far shall we go? Will your policy be the same for Buddhist monasteries as well? We were accompanied by Professor Kapil who himself was saying that stupas were demolished and Buddhist viharas were demolished.
You didn’t speak when Buddhist statues were broken
Meanwhile, UHF President Jai Bhagwan Goyal cut his point and said, whenever it comes to temples, you go to Buddhist Bihar, whatever the issue is, you talk about it, Buddha, don’t talk about Bihar, Buddha is also ours. . He said that when big statues of Lord Buddha were vandalized in Afghanistan, then why didn’t you speak on it, if you want to increase brotherhood, then leave our temples, the matter is over.
Why are these matters being raised now?
Professor Junaid said, Buddha is yours, Buddha is not ours. On this, Professor Junaid said, there is brotherhood under the constitution, not under oppression on anyone. The issue which Shivaji did not raise was the Kashi Vishwanath temple built there in 1735, he was not a Hindu, Shivaji was not a Hindu. Why was this issue not raised earlier?
Where do you trust the Constitution?
On this, Jai Bhagwan Goyal replied saying where do you believe the Constitution, where did the Constitution go in Shah Bano, where did the Constitution on CAA go, today you are openly opposing the Uniform Code of Conduct. What suits you is a constitution and what is not in your favor is not a constitution.
