Seeing the children raising slogans in political rallies, the question arises in everyone’s mind that why are they being dragged into politics. But this thing is now flashing in the mind of the judiciary as well. A judge of the Kerala High Court expressed his concern in an informal talk to the bar and tried to find a solution to it. His question was that how will the children raising slogans in the rallies benefit the country.
Justice Gopinath of the Kerala High Court believes that children of 5-6 years old are being made to chant religious slogans. At this age, so much poison is being mixed in his mind. What will happen when they become adults? His question was whether there is any law to prevent children from attending political rallies? He himself also believed that under the law, it is not permissible for children to raise slogans or take them to rallies.
Justice Gopinath has heard many cases related to Paxos. He said that his heart was filled after seeing the video of a rally. In this, a child sitting on the shoulder of a man was raising religious slogans. Even though he doesn’t know what he is saying. He said that children should be kept away from such a disgusting environment. They also get the right to vote or to obtain a driving license only after attaining the age of 18.
He said that it is very important to take steps to remove the children from such an environment. It should be noted that this statement of Justice has come to the fore two days after the incident in which a video of a child during a rally of Popular Front of India went viral. A child was seen shouting slogans at a rally in Kerala’s Alappuzha district. However, Kerala Police along with NHRC has taken cognizance after the video went viral. A case has also been registered in this.

However, a day before the rally, a person had raised a petition in the High Court expressing concern that the atmosphere is already bad in this district. Many political murders have taken place here. Justice PV Kunhikrishnan allowed the petition and directed the police to keep a close watch on the law and order situation. Other benches of the Kerala High Court have also taken cognizance of cases related to political violence.
