He himself could not study as there was no school in the village. He took it as a challenge and decided to build a school in Harkala. His journey started in the year 1995. He had left no stone unturned to get permission and land for the school. His dream came true in 1999 when the Dakshina Kannada district panchayat sanctioned a school. Initially, the school was running in a mosque known as Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Lower Primary School ‘Hajba Awara Shail’ (School of Hajba).
