Mumbai: Maharashtra State Finance Minister and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar presented the budget in the Maharashtra Assembly. During this, he said that Maharashtra will be the first state with an economy of 1 trillion US dollars.
He said that hospitals for women would be opened in many districts of the state. 100 crore will be allocated for start-ups. Rs 100 crore will be allocated for a music university to be set up at Kalina University in the name of late Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar.

The state government has decided to issue ID cards and ration cards to all transgenders across the state. Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Gallantry Award will be given from this year. Finance Minister Ajit Pawar said that women’s hospital will be opened in all the districts.
Finance Minister Ajit Pawar has announced that eco-friendly natural gas is used domestically, benefiting CNG-run vehicles. It is proposed to increase the rate of Value Added Tax (VAT) from 13.5 percent to 3 percent. This will reduce the revenue by Rs 800 crore. The Maharashtra government has given a big relief to the bus, taxi and auto rickshaw drivers running on CNG. The government reduced the 13.5% tax to 3%. Due to reduction of tax by the government, there will be a burden of 800-1000 crores on the government treasury. Ajit Pawar said that three thousand new buses will be given to ST Mahamandal.
