Indian Railways has taken some special steps to provide convenience to the passengers. Now passengers can get their PAN card and Aadhar card made at the railway station very easily. Not only this, passengers can also recharge their phones and pay electricity bills with convenience. For this, the Railways is now going to make kiosks like Common Service Center.

These will be known as ‘RailWire Saathi Kiosks’. Passengers will be able to apply for Aadhaar and PAN card through RailWire Saathi Kiosks. The facility of filling tax, voter card, banking, insurance, income tax, bus ticket and air ticket will also be provided to the passengers.
Where did it start now and where will it be?
So far, this facility has been started in the first phase at two stations of North Eastern Railway, Varanasi City and Prayagraj Rambagh. These kiosks will be operated by village level entrepreneurs of Common Service Centers. In the second phase, preparations will be made to start this facility at Veerangana Laxmibai station and many other stations including Gorakhpur in the second phase, for which the stations have been selected.
Plan to start at 200 stations
Pankaj Kumar, Public Relations Officer, North Eastern Railway informed that ‘Rail Wire Saathi Kiosk’ has been started as a pilot project at two stations. It is being planned to make it operational at 200 stations in the future. Of these 200 stations, 44 are South Central Railway, 20 Northeast Frontier Railway and 13 East Central Railway. While 15 in Western Railway, 12 in West Central Railway and 13 in East Coast Railway. 56 stations are on North Eastern Railway.
WiFi facility at 6 thousand stations
Dr Dinesh Kumar Tyagi, Managing Director, CSC-SPV said that under the Digital India scheme, WiFi is being provided at 6000 stations under RailTel’s Wi-Fi and Kiosk (KIOSK).
