The court on Monday dismissed petitions challenging the minimum age criterion of six years for admission to class I for the upcoming academic session in Kendriya Vidyalaya.
Justice Rekha Palli, Judge of the Delhi High Court, who is hearing several petitions related to this, said – I am dismissing the petitions. It was argued in the petitions that the sudden change in the minimum age requirement from five years to six years on the part of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is unfair and arbitrary.
The court said the detailed order would be available later. Additional Attorney General Chetan Sharma, appearing for the Central Government, argued that there is no vested right in the petitioners for admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) and the petitioners will become eligible for admission next year.
