Political agitation has increased regarding the upcoming presidential election. In this connection, to unite the opposition, West Bengal CM and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee has called a meeting at 3 pm on Wednesday. But even before this meeting, Mamata Banerjee was shocked when TRS decided not to attend this meeting. At the same time, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi also said that even if TMC’s invitation had come, he too would not go to this meeting because of Congress.
Speaking to news agency ANI on the opposition meeting called by Mamata Banerjee, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said, “I have not been called, even if called, I would not have gone, the reason for this is Congress. Had TMC called us to slander us, we would not have gone because they have called Congress for the meeting.
However, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s TRS, whose ties with Mamata Banerjee have grown over its mission to defeat the BJP, decided not to attend today’s meeting and strongly objected to the Congress being invited for the meeting. Expressed. TRS has bluntly said that there is no question of sharing any platform with Congress.
On behalf of the party, it has been said that Rahul Gandhi had recently targeted the TRS government without speaking a word against the BJP in a public meeting in Telangana. The press note has accused the Congress of having an ‘alliance with the BJP’ in Telangana, especially in the recent by-elections. The TRS said that the Congress has been invited to this meeting despite lodging strong objections. According to sources, leaders of BJD, AAP and SAD will also not attend the meeting. A BJD leader, on the condition of anonymity, said that the party has not yet received any instructions from their chief Naveen Patnaik.
However, Mamta Banerjee seems to be getting relief from the SP. On the meeting to be held regarding the presidential election, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said, “The decision taken by Mamta Banerjee will be fully supported by the Samajwadi Party. Whatever Mamata didi will decide, the SP is with her.”
On the other hand, YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy on the meeting called by Mamata Banerjee regarding the Presidential election said, “We have not received the invitation to attend the meeting till yesterday. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will decide on the matter of supporting any candidate. I don’t know whether the opposition will field a candidate or not.”
