Violent demonstrations took place on Friday in many cities including Prayagraj, Saharanpur, Ranchi against Nupur Sharma, the suspended spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party, surrounded by controversial statements on Prophet Muhammad. Along with this, there was a demand to arrest Nupur Sharma immediately. During a TV debate on the issue, author Tariq Fatah alleged that mosques provoke people, which enraged Muslim scholar Asghar Khan.
The anchor asked Tariq Fatah why every time violence is erupting and people are protesting only after Friday prayers. Who is instigating people at the place of worship? In response to this question, Tariq Fatah said, “Mosques have been used to incite people for a long time. Martyrdom, death and separation from the body are all these are taught to children in madrassas.
No comparison of India with any country: Muslim scholar Asghar Khan was furious on these allegations of Tariq Fatah and asked Asghar Khan not to compare India with any other country. Asghar Khan said, “Don’t compare Fatah sahib, our country is different, another country is different. Saare Jahan Se Achcha, Hindostan Hamara.” Asghar Khan also called Tariq Fatah a fugitive who fled from Pakistan.
People get angry after hearing hate speech: who is defaming the day of worship? In response to this question, Tariq Fatah said, “This is a very old method. Most of the wars have taken place on the day of Ramadan, most processions are taken out on the day of Juma because people gather in one place and then get angry after hearing hate speech. On the question of involving the children in these processions and demonstrations, Tariq Fatah said that they teach lessons like martyrdom, separation from the head in the madrassa.
During the TV debate, Tariq Fatah said that till the time the Muslim community of India does not consider itself as Hindustani first and Muslim second, this process will continue. He said, “Worshiping Aurangzeb in his mind and considering Babar as his hero, it will not work directly by shedding the Ganges in reverse.”
