The Asaram case, which was in the headlines till the country and abroad, took a new turn when Ajaypal Lamba, the IPS officer associated with his investigation, wrote something in his book which is suitable for the lawyers of the accused. At present, his lawyers have filed a petition for bail, terming the rape case registered against Asaram as false. Lamba’s appearance is on March 7.

On the basis of this line, the lawyers of Asaram, convicted of raping a minor, have filed a bail application. This book has been written by Ajay Pal Lamba, the IPS officer who arrested Asaram. Asaram’s lawyers have an objection to a line printed in the book. The petition is to be heard in the High Court on Monday. 1 line written in the book of IPS has revived this case.
Ajaypal Lamba has written on page number 7 of the book that he went to Manai Ashram in Jodhpur with the team. Lamba made a video from his mobile for the investigation. After the book was published, Asaram’s lawyer told the court that Lamba hid this from the judge. It was argued that Lamba had already made a video of the ashram and showed it to the victim and then filed a case after making a false story of rape. The court has fixed the date of March 7 and ordered Lamba to appear. However, he has refrained from saying anything on the matter. At present, Asaram’s lawyers are confused about this line of the book. He says that it was not presented as evidence in the court.
According to a report, Rajasthan High Court Advocate Ajay Jain says that according to the Rajasthan Police Rules, the spot should have been sealed after the case was registered. Videos or photos should be taken only after getting the victim inspected. But he had already made the video. He did not even mention the video in the case diary. If the thing written in the book is considered correct, then action can be taken against them under sections 166, 167 of IPC.
Asaram has been sentenced by a special court in Jodhpur for raping a minor. The victim had accused Asaram of raping her at the Jodhpur ashram on the night of August 15, 2013. The victim, a resident of Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, was studying in Asaram’s ashram in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh. Asaram was arrested from Indore and brought to Jodhpur on September 1, 2013. Since then he is in jail. Asaram has filed bail applications several times. Even veteran lawyers like Subramanian Swamy and KTS Tulsi could not make way for Asaram to get bail.
Asaram is also accused of rape in Surat, Gujarat. There two girls have accused Asaram and son Narayan Sai of rape and confinement. Many witnesses have also been murdered in the high profile case.
