The political atmosphere in the country is hot these days due to provocative statements. Two FIRs have been registered by Delhi Police on Wednesday for provocative statements, in which one FIR against Nupur Sharma while the second FIR includes the names of 32 people including AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi. A debate was organized on News18 India on the same issue, in which AIMIM leader Danish Qureshi said that the government is not taking balanced action in the matter of provocative statements.
Questioning Qureshi’s statement, panelist Avinjesh Awasthi said, “I want to ask a question to Qureshi that in how many years Wali Ullah, who carried out the bomb blasts in Varanasi, was punished. At one point the Samajwadi Party had reached the court to withdraw their allegation that there was an innocent person. Awasthi said that “You have just said that the FIR has been lodged against you because you are a minority.”
He further said that “I just want to tell you that leave all this drama. Two Indian cricketers Ajuddin and Sreesanth were caught. Mohammad Azharuddin said that he was caught only because he was a minority while Sreesanth did not make any such excuse. Further asked Danish, “The way Shivling was ridiculed. What do you think should be the punishment? Your name was also included in the jokers. We all have to respect each other’s faith. You will go away like this jokingly, it will not work now.”
At the same time, about making fun of Shivling, Qureshi said that the matter is still in the court. I can’t say anything on this. Another panelist said that the mother of the terrorist-thief has never admitted that she is a terrorist. If that person is wrong in the eyes of the law, then it does not matter what his society and his people think.
Delhi Police is seen in action regarding provocative statements. On registering the FIR, the Delhi Police said that all the accused were allegedly spreading hate messages, inciting different groups and creating a situation which is detrimental to the maintenance of peace.
