Simarjit Singh describes himself as a supporter of Bhindranwale’s ideology. At the same time, Mann himself has also admitted that in the 1980s, he had helped Khalistani separatist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his men in supplying arms. At that time Mann was working as SSP in Faridkot.

Bhindranwale: The country has also seen a period when the demand to separate Punjab from India and make ‘Khalistan’ nation for Sikhs was in full swing. For this the Khalistan movement was being run. In which Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale was at the fore. Bhindranwale and some armed terrorists entered the Golden Temple complex and captured it on 15 December 1983. Now Khalistani supporters were trying to carry out their plans from here.
