On Monday, Mumbai Police said on this whole matter that they have been summoned to record their statement on this matter.
An FIR has been registered on behalf of Delhi Police against unknown people regarding the threats Nupur is receiving on social media. On the whole matter, Trinamool Congress spokesperson Saket Gokhale says that “I had filed a complaint against his communal remarks last week though FIR has not been registered on that yet.”
Clarifying on the controversial remarks made by Sharma and Jindal on Monday, Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “The objectionable tweets and comments defaming a religious personality were made by some individuals. They do not reflect the views of the Government of India in any way. Strict action has already been taken against these persons by the concerned bodies.”
